“Following” tab no longer on Instagram now

It’s a pleasant news for all those grubby Instagram followers, now that Instagram has removed the “Following” tab; you are now free to follow or like anyone on the social media platform without the fear of being judged. The social network confirmed removal of the tab this week for all the users, although the company quietly removed the tab for some users starting in August. Better late than never, it has finally occurred Instagram to give the privacy to its humongous followers they deserve.

Instagram is undeniably, one of the most popular social networking platform, howbeit, you need your space!

Instagram launched its “Following” tab back in 2011, to discover new content since it showed what your friends or people you follow were liking. It was probably initiated as a means to create network and explore a wide variety of pages on Instagram, as opposed to unfurl your privacy. It was created in contemplation of discovering new content, however, it ended up bringing lucidity which bothered a many and make them uncomfortable.

According to Vishal Shah the director of product on Instagram’s Business platform, people didn’t even know the “following” tab existed. “People didn’t always know that their activity is surfacing,” Shah said. “So you have a case where it’s not serving the use case you built it for, but it’s also causing people to be surprised when their activity is showing up” Shah told Buzzfeed News. Shah also said “simplicity was the driving factor” in deciding to remove it. Now users will only able to view the activity directly relating to their accounts.

For all those Stalkers who love to gossip and keep a Hawk eye on people are really going to miss this feature big time!
